Client Communications

If you are coming from another corporate job, most of this section will be a recap. Please take the time to read through either way.

Email Writing

Some of these may seem like repetitive formalities, but as a service organization, they are extremely important if you are client-facing.

-Always start with Hi _ and a pleasant opener. Do not use "hey" or just jump right into the message. You will see our clients do this to us, but it is not a two-way street. When relevant, open and close with a thank you, but use your judgment.

Email Format

-When you are presenting pieces of information, like you will often have to do in follow ups, keep in mind readability to the other side. It is always a good idea to use bullets or numbered lists when relevant.

Meetings/Presentations

AMG's policy is that cameras are required to be on for any external calls. They are not required for internal calls.

For virtual meetings, enter the meeting 3-5 minutes early (unless internal). This is a vital habit for professionalism, assuming you are client facing.

If you are not familiar with the team you are talking to, be sure to introduce yourself, including your name and your title or role.

Try to consistently wear a blazer, ideally, or at the very least business casual (again, all of these are for external). Do not show up to external meetings in a t-shirt; this is not Silicon Valley, and we are not the clients. This may seem trivial or outdated, but clients have taken notice and voiced this to us.

Don't stress, and smile! Meetings are the fun part of what we do, and a great opportunity to learn from our partners.
